Internet Access Initiative

In today’s world broadband access equals opportunity. Providing free high-speed internet is especially important as more aspects of our lives move online. Broadband access is an essential component of digital equity and increasingly important for education, employment, health, public safety information, and community connections. OC Public Libraries is committed to the Internet Access Initiative: Bridging the Digital Divide to bring greater access to internet connectivity to the Orange County community. The initiative includes WiFi extensions that reach outside the walls of each OC Public Libraries branch, borrowing of Chromebooks and WiFi hotspots with a valid OCPL card, OCPL Mobile Library vehicles with WiFi access, and continued informational services that place community members within reach of internet resources.
