Become a Teen Volunteer at OC Public Libraries an you'll have fun while earning community service hours and getting real work experience!

While each OC Public Libraries branch has its own Teen Volunteer Policies, typically Teen Volunteers are between 12 and 17 years old. Contact your local branch to learn the age range for their volunteer program.

NOTE: OC Public Libraries does not offer opportunities for court-appointed volunteering. Teens requiring court-appointed community service hours can contact the OneOC Court Referral Program.

Teen Volunteers help organize library materials and participate in fun library events. Volunteer spots may be limited and vary depending on library needs and availability. Please contact your local branch for more information.

Hours are flexible and include weekdays and weekend shifts.

Volunteers are required to arrive on time and be ready to volunteer.  If a volunteer cannot fulfill his/her shift, the volunteer should notify their branch as soon as possible.

To apply for Teen Volunteer opportunities, contact your local branch to check for availability. Once availability is confirmed, you may fill out the OCCR Volunteer Registration Form. Afterwards, print the completed form and drop off at your local branch.

NOTE: The OCCR Volunteer Registration Form is used across other county agencies, some questions may not apply. Check with your local branch for specific information required by their volunteer program.
