At 9:00 a.m. today, a voluntary evacuation for theSilverado Canyonburn area was issued by County of Orange public safety officials due to potential flooding and debris flows. The voluntary evacuation is for homes east of 30311 Silverado Canyon Road. This voluntary evacuation has the potential to be upgraded to a mandatory evacuation as the storm progresses.
The American RedCross is opening an Evacuation Center for community members affected by theHoly Jim Fire. The Evacuation Center is located at the Silverado CommunityCenter, 27641 Silverado Canyon Road in Silverado.
ORANGE COUNTY EMERGENCY OPERATIONS CENTER TO DEACTIVATEThe County of Orange will deactivate the Emergency Operations Center and its Public Information hotline at 7:00 p.m. tonight, Wednesday, August 31. Emergency Operations Center staff will continue to monitor the Holy Jim Fire as firefighters continue working to contain the fire currently burning in the Cleveland National Forest.
