Story Times

Aliso Viejo

Extra-Special Pajama Storytime
Tuesday, May 13, 7:00 pm
 
Sunshine Storyteller, Ina Buckner-Barnette, and her cow friend, Mookie, will entertain an audience of all ages with humorous tales in this special Pajama Storytime presented as part of Orange County's Imagination Celebration.  


Read Aloud Club
Wednesday, May 21st from 4:00 to 5:00 pm

Practice your reading skills one-on-one! Read out loud to a National Charity League volunteer every third Wednesday of the month. No registration required, just drop in!


Toddler Storytime
Wednesday and Thursday Mornings at 11 am

Stories, finger plays, and songs for Infants to 3 1/2 year-olds, with an adult. 


Preschool Storytime
Tuesdays from 1:15 to 1:45 pm

This storytime with books, rhymes, and songs is just for kids ages 3½ to 6 years old, able to attend on their own. Registration is required by phone or at the Children’s Information Desk.   


Pajama Storytime
Tuesdays, from 7:00 to 7:30 pm

Pajamas are welcome at our evening storytime for kids and adults of all ages.   


Costa Mesa/Donald Dungan
Toddler Storytime and Playtime:  Children ages 0-3 and their caregivers are invited to come to the library on Mondays at 11 AM for stories, songs, and fingerplays.  After storytime, toddlers can play with educational toys and each other!  This is a great chance for toddlers to learn by doing what they do best, playing!  Plus, parents have a chance to talk. May 5, 12, and 19  Note: No Storytime on May 26.

 


Family Storytime:  All ages are invited to the Wednesday evening storytime at 7PM for stories, songs, crafts, and fun.  May 7, 14, 21, and 28


Drop in Craft day
Saturday, May 31, 10AM-5PM

Costa Mesa/Mesa Verde

SCHOOL-AGE READING WITH FIDO AND FRIENDS
Thursday, May 20, 3:30 – 4:40 pm
The Orange County Animal Care Services will present Reading with Fido and Friends at the Mesa Verde Library.  The children attending the “Talk to Me” program will have the opportunity to enjoy a storytime with a dog and a cat from the animal shelter while learning and understanding what the animals might be saying to them.

Reading to Rover
– Come read to one of several specially trained therapy dogs.  These sweet, friendly dogs LOVE to hear stories and can’t wait to meet you.  Kids improve their skills by reading to certified READ dogs.  Open to kids of all ages.

This storytime with books, rhymes, and songs is just for kids ages 0 to 2 years old with an accompanying adult.  Registration is required by phone or at the Children’s Information Desk.  The Spring Session of Infant Lapsit Storytime runs thru May27th.  There will be a break during the month of June.  Lapsit Storytime will begin again for the summer on July1st at 10:30am and 11:00am , a change of time, and will run through August 19th.


Toddlers: 
Wednesdays in May 10:30am and 12: 30pm


Twenty minutes of simple stories, music, rhythm band, flannelboard stories and fun for children 2 to 5 years old with an accompanying adult.  Registration is required by phone or at the Children’s Information Desk.  Toddler Storytime runs thru May27th.  There will be a break during the month of June.  Toddler Storytime will begin again for the summer on July1st at 10:30am and 12:30pm and will run through August 19th.
